It saves time and make my work more easy and tidy Learn from mistake: the best teacher is myself, I learn new things from every mistake I made. 8) I have compared me and the two leaders with the value, belief, attitudes, metaprograms. Traits, skills, and strategies to analysis the thing I have to learn from them and improve myself to achieve a good leadership on me. From the value I think I have learn from Gandhi with love but never hate, it is most difficult value from him and most precious point on him, he forgive everyone who try to harm him and reach a level normal people canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t reach. i also have some common point between this two leaders, such as live in present and be kind. For the beliefs, me and this two leaders are both belief all the religious are equal and non-violent. But I think I still can learn the spiritual value in suffering, it bring them closer to Christ. I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t have much experience been suffer with lack of food or physical pain. I living in a material well-being life, I canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t really go into their world and I think that is what I lack to be a g ood leader. This two leaders are both have the self-sacrifice attitudes, they sacrifice and spent most of their life to helping other people for not benefit, in my opinion people can do that is a true leader, and me and this two leaders are all optimistic with any situation and problem, we had strong belief to help us solve the problem. The metaprograms between me and the two leaders are mostly same but I feel I have to enhance my thinking about others but not only myself. On their traits I also have some common point which same with them, such as Independent of thought and Remorseless with the task for self, but what I lack of is an attic faith, I always easily give up because many material temptation. For the personal skills we had common point such as being a good listener and always be smile. But it is really hard to forgive for me, that what I feel Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m lack of. For the strategies, I do have align with them like learn from mistake. And I feel cont inuous learning and improvement the most thing I need now, Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m still young and not enough knowledge and experience. Learning is the very important part for me to become a good leader. 9) I came from China, my culture background are traditional Chinese culture which are emphasize on etiquette and connotation culture. The first thing we have learn is modest and modestly decline. It is difference with the culture of those two leaders. Mother Teresa was born in Skopje, Macedonia and she affect a lot by Indian culture since she spent most of her life in Indian. Also she is a devout Catholic, she believe God will provide everything for her to help those poor, her faith give her very strong will and confidence to made todays Mother Teresa. Mohandas Gandhi was born in India but receive British education, he had very strong great man leadership, and his idea are far sighted. Those all are the factor of he become a great leader. For this two leaders, they had some commo n point. They both are think all the religious, color and level of people are equal and both of them spent their life to help peoples. Another common point is both of them are having a very strong leadership, people gathering, and identity and support them. PART B 1) My current state Currently Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m working as a support worker, and I do had experience of to be a leader. I have few personal strengths to be a leader such as, a strong time management with my schedule to make sure I always complete task on time, good plan making for each task to achieve the best result and good monitor skill to encourage and supervise team member compete each task. But I also have some weaknesses that might influence my approach to leadership like lack of communication skill to make effective communication with team member, and play autocratic because I always feel Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m the one who are right, it might let other team members feel dissatisfied. Last one is lack of c onflict management skill, when conflict happen I always feel agitated and play bad attitude with other members. Since I like to joke with my friends, sometime they will feel Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m not a reliable person even sometime I try to help. Also they feel me are stubborn and not positive all the time. Another side, my friends all like to talk with me, because Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m a good listener and I always can solve problem with different angle, also because Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m a very upbeat person. 2) My desired state I feel if I want to be a good leader, first I have to have a good attitude during the task progress and encourage other members to have a good working environment, also I have to improve my conflict manage skill to make me more driving the team. Last, I have to enhance my communication skill to make an effective communication with other members. I think if I could achieve the three task above Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll be a leader who are up to standard, also it will enhance the quality of my life to make it more efficiency and to make my friends feel more comfortable while stay with me. Short Term Outcome Positive attitude: to improve my performance during the team work Conflict Manage Skill: to reduce the conflict between others Communication Skill: to make a clear information exchange, make work more efficiency. Long Term Outcome Positive attitude: to enhance my life quality. Conflict Manage Skill: dealing with people with no conflict, mutual understanding Communication Skill: bring this skill into my future career, achieve it more successful 3) My strategies To taking the course of how to work more positively to enhance myself Give more understand to other people when conflict occur and learn how to transpositoal consideration. Take the course of how to have effective communication with other people and enhance my skill. Focus on work for every day, and be passion on work Not conflict happen between friend, if happen try to solve peacefully Share some interest story to friend with using effective communication skill. I might ask tutorà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s help with the skill knowledge or suggest, also internet is a good way to help with the gaining information. Or can read the book I like to keep self in a good mood. 4) Timeline Short term: 19 May 2015 à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å" 19 Oct 2015 Long term: 19 May 2015 à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â‚¬Å" 19 May 2016 APA Top 10 Qualities of Mahatma Gandhi why you need to learn them.byAlok Sharma https://theuntrailedpath.blogspot.co.nz/2011/10/top-10-qualities-of-mahatma-gandhi-why.html 10 Life Lessons From Mother Teresa.by Sompong Yusoontorn https://www.slideshare.net/bright9977/10-life-lessons-from-mother-teresa History Learning Site.Mahatma Gandhi. https://www.historylearningsite.co.uk/mahatma_gandhi.htm 10 Leadership Lessons From Mahatma Gandhi.by Sompong Yusoontron. https://www.slideshare.net/bright9977/10-leadership-lessons-from-mahatma-gandhi Mother Teresa.a Biography About Mother Teresa, the Saint of the Gutters.by Jennifer R osenberg. https://history1900s.about.com/od/people/a/motherteresa.htm

The Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple - 1328 Words

On October 29, 2016, I visited the Anshe Chesed Fairmount Temple which offers services regarding the religion of Judaism. Although I don’t identify as religious, I was originally raised as Roman Catholic, even going to a private catholic elementary school. I’ve always had somewhat of an interest in Judaism as it’s believed to be among one of the oldest existing religions in the world along with Hinduism. The service I visited is referred to as the â€Å"Shabbat Morning Service†, which took place from 11:00 AM-12:15 PM. The word â€Å"Shabbat† is Hebrew which is one of the primary languages associated with Judaism. In English, it translates to â€Å"Sabbath† which is primarily a day of religious observance and rest which is kept by those that practice Judaism, also known as Jews, from Friday evening to Saturday evening. Jews believe that God is the creator of all that exists and he alone is to be worshipped. They also believe that Jesus did no t fulfill messianic prophecies that establish the criteria for the coming of the messiah. The congregation is led by a rabbi who is a Jewish teacher or scholar and usually they are joined by a cantor who sings liturgical music and sometimes leads in prayer. Attendants read and sing from a prayer book throughout the service at the prompting of the rabbi and cantor. Male attendants are prompted to wear kippahs at services although they are technically optional. Generally, at Shabbat services, there is a partition between men and women in that men sit on

Correlation And Validation Of Results And Investigations In Medical

Question: Whatismeantbycorrelationandvalidationofresultsandinvestigations in medical laboratory? Answer: Validation describes the process of determining an assays fitness that has been developed, optimized a well as standardized properly for a particular intended purpose. All lab assays must be validated for species whereby they shall be utilized. It entails estimates of analytical as well as diagnostic performance features of the given test. 1 The validation in medical is the process of confirming whether a given test fulfils the following four criteria: The test results is validated whether it reflects the reality in the body of the patient. The test result also is validated whether it has a significant relationship with the underlying disease. 2 The test result is also validated whether it provides additional information which is not available already. It is also validated whether the test is cost-effective ad whether the cost if the test is justified by its usefulness. Correlation means the significant relationship between the test results with the disease in question. 3 Discusstheprocedurefornewtestsandbatchesofreagentsrequiredfor diagnosis Planning process Involves allocating duty to a person who undertakes the process of validation and would be responsible for the final result and making decision. The requirement of the method to be used must be defined prior to testing like limits, range of work, desirable quantity and accuracy. The document for description ought to be clear and detailed such that any trained lab technician use it. Implementation This involves the application of the values of the limits set in the requirement stage like accuracy, quantification and precision. The parameters are liable to change depending on the approach used by the technician. The activities and the recorded outcomes are implemented according to date, operative and the final results. Control Involves verifying if the all the requirements defined in the planning process have been complied with by the operator. After the implementation of all the undertakings, the requirements are checked and scrutinized to validate if they meet the standards. For example using control measures from time to time and check limits of the line of regression. Then include such regressions if any in the process and hence make final outcome from the test. 2 The procedure is then declared if it was rightly followed to the end. Finally, an official declaration is made concerning the suitability of the method used for the purpose for which it was intended. Errors, policy and procedures to avoid them Errors of preanalysis The error comes from the physician at the analytic stage. It occurs in the identification of the patient, assortment, movement and analysis preparation. These errors occur either within or without the laboratory for example misidentifying the patient. 4 There is a policy that ensures that a patient is identified either by use of name or date of birth or using some codes on the wristband. Also ensuring integrity of the specimen and the patient. Ensuring communication among the patient attendants in the assessment of patients. Analytical errors They happen during testing due to machine failures, mixing of samples and interference. Use of automation to follow up, discover and record errors during testing. The equipment to be used should be tested to ascertain if they functional. Quality of management through safety of patient in the laboratory ensuring quality key indicators in the laboratory. Also frequent staff training can help in overcoming the errors. Post analytical errors These errors occur after the actual testing due to poor recording, reporting, poor entry of data and poor interpretation and validation of data. Evaluating the competency of the staff as well as carrying out in-service programs for the staff. Animal Testing Essays (645 words) - Animal Testing, Animal Rights

Animal Testing Animal Testing ?Beauty without cruelty? is the outcry that can be heard from animal right activists around the world. The FDA does not require companies to perform tests on animals but if the cosmetic product contains chemicals that can be seen as toxins, testing becomes a necessity. There are currently thirteen safety tests that are performed on animals. Anti-testing activists deem these unnecessary and consider them to be cruel. ?Fourteen million animals are used currently in the U.S. to test toxicity and irritancy of cosmetics and household products? (Hannah). Many new forms of safety tests are being developed by companies to save money along with the lives of innocent animals. There are three common safety test that are in use and considered to be the most controversial. Among these are the Draize, LD50, and the skin irritancy test. The Draize test is a test of how a chemical effects irritation in the eye. This test is performed on rabbits who under controlled supervision have a chemical force into one of their eyes. The eyelid is then held shut to prevent the chemical from being flushed out. For the next couple of weeks the rabbits are tested for blindness and other damages that result. Besides being abusive, the test is imprecise given the fact that a rabbit eye is unlike the human eye in physical makeup. A rabbit eye lacks tear ducts to flush out foreign objects unlike humans who can produce tears to protect the eye. The cornea in a rabbit eye is also much thinner and sensitive than a humans. The LD50 is short for ?lethal dose in 50 percent?. In this test the chemical being tested if force fed to rats or mice in small amounts until the dosage is in excess. This is continued until at least 50% of the test subjects die. Although the test rodent may not die right away, it may experience seizures and internal damage. This test is considered to be the most cruel of the tests and can only determine how much of a chemical substance is needed to kill a small animal not a human being. In the skin irritancy test the chemical is applied directly onto the shaved skin of a animal. The skin is then monitored for irritation. This test is also inconclusive in the skin makeup of an animal differs greatly from that of a human. The amount of absorption between the two different skin types will have an influence on how the chemical will react once it comes in contact with human skin tissue. Many companies such as Avon, Revlon, and Estee Lauder have completely stopped the use of animals in testing their products. Over 250 companies are also following in their footsteps and seeking new methods to generate the same effect. One company has gone as far as performing tests on nuns who have sympathized with those against animal testing. ?None of the nuns died.? ?For the first time in their lives, the nuns wore lipstick.? (Penders2) Using computer generated models is one example where researchers can predict the how the skin will respond to the chemicals using cloned human tissue cells. The use of egg membrane has also replaced the Draize test. The membrane is removed from fresh eggs and then exposed to a small amount of a chemical. Researchers can then observe the reaction by noticing the breakdown of blood vessels within the membrane. Although these methods are not considered to be as good as testing on actual living animals they have greatly reduced the number of animals being killed in the name of science. They have provided the consumer with a product they can be assured has not been tested on animals. On the plus side animal testing has reduced and eliminated the use of dangerous toxins from cosmetics. The fight to completely end the use of animal testing has not ended for animal activists. Until definite methods can be developed to accurately test chemicals, many companies will refuse to abandon their traditional forms of testing. Animal Science

Egypt Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Egypt - Essay Example The settlement marked the onset of a more centrally oriented society; the Early Dynasty Period (3100-2686 BCE); the kingdom of the earliest Egyptian king Menes. The Egyptians made use of copper, made architectural and state buildings. Firmly established was the concept of 'Divine Kingship' which persisted in Egypt for around three millennia (Kinnaer, 2012). The Old Kingdom (2686-2181 BCE) was one of the high times of the Egyptian civilization, centered on the God kings; their mummification and the concept of immortality being practiced for the royals and the priests. The first evidence of statue making, painting and writing of annals of important events is also found in this dynasty. This Era in antiquity was followed by collapse of the unified Egypt due to political instability, famine and local violation of temples and then began the First Intermediate Period(2181-2055 BCE) which witnessed much turmoil in shape of low floods. While the Nile floods allowed cultivation of land, Herak leopolitan king Bahr Yusuf restored order and stability in the region. Subsequently the Theban ruler Mentuhotep unified Egypt again and gave way to the establishment of Middle Kingdom (Hassan, 2012). The Theban ruler reestablished central authority, regained hold of southern delta and unified the two valleys to usher the Middle Kingdom(2055-1650 BCE). In this era the Cult of Orisis was attended to and military campaigns were sent, that contributed in regaining Egypt`s lost land. Finest carved reliefs and outstanding monuments like Mentuhotep's mortuary complex are the gifts of this dynasty to the Egyptian history (Meyers, 1996). When the Huskos invaded this land, the Second Intermediate(1650-1550 BCE) Period started which was characterized mainly by decentralization, change of center to Thebes, production of literary and scientific text and administrative records. This era ended after the Theban rulers drove Huskos away from Avaris. Subsequent rise of the Theban ruler Ahmose ushered the New Kingdom (1550-1069 BCE) and the pharaohs commanded unimaginable wealth. The Empire became the most prosperous of all times and at the peak of its power (Shaw, 2000). A number of artistic finds are related to this period including monumental architecture, mortuary temples of Thebes, statuary to honor pharaohs and gods, huge tombs made by cutting rock and various artistic masterpieces created by common individuals of that society. This period spans over five centuries (Logan, 1977). With the death of the pharaoh in 21st Dynasty, began the 350 years duration of politically divided rule; and finally at the end Nubians took over; in the Third Intermediate Period however bronze statuary kept on flourishing (the Third intermediate Period, metmuseum.org). After some years of Nubian rule, Assyrians invaded the land and fought for about 8 years; the Late Period(664-332 BCE) began from here, then the Saite took over and Egypt became its ally. After fall of Assyrians, Babylonians posed the major threat but the Persians conquered Babylon and with it Egypt as well. Alexander the Great defeated the Persians in 332 B.C. The last dynasty to rule ancient Egypt was Nectanebo, and Nectanebo II

The Pearl Essay Example for Free

The Pearl Essay The book – The Pearl, paints numerous lessons to several disciplines, but more in business because the whole story revolves the selling of the pearl and the way the different stakeholders acted through. Kino the main character, together with his wife sets out to find a pearl to get money to treat their son Coyotito who has been bitten by a scorpion. They find a big precious pearl that changes the whole goal, from treating the child to educating him, buying a rifle, and improved life standards. This was quite too ambitious and so it was difficult to reach it. The pearl gives us the two perspectives about the nature of human beings. The virtuous type of people who have love and concern, especially for their family unit and their neighbourhood and those types of people who only focus on getting richer in spite of the means they use to amass property. At the beginning of the story, Kino is an innocent contented father who cares for his family in the best way possible (Steinbeck, Wagner-Martin, and Orozco, 1994). One point that demonstrates this is when Kino closed his eyes to listen to the song of the family song that was playing in his mind Steinbeck, Wagner-Martin, and Orozco, 1994). At the time his boy is stung by a scorpion the neighbours showed concern. On the other hand, human nature also has a weakness, of focusing on gaining wealth and not relation. The very first picture is the one portrayed by the doctor who never visited them but concentrated on the rich families only. As the story progresses we see the vulnerability that exists in all people, as Kino changes from an innocent loving husband to a criminal because of wanting to be rich. Here the doctor too shows the self-centeredness of people never minding, even if the lives of others are in danger. Coyotito could die but the doctor fist wanted money before treating him. These are the two major facets of human life. This book is also very important for all entrepreneurs and established business people. All business ventures are aimed at getting wealth but business ethics calls for a balance between relating with people well and getting money from good and genuine business deals. The book centers on the greed among business men, which will make them, use unscrupulous ways of getting wealthy, a practice that is very much against business ethics. Among these are middle men who get rich from trading with poor people, giving them so little as their returns for the hard work they have done. Kino represents the poor who work had to see their dreams, such as healthy and decent lives for their families, and education for their children (Steinbeck, Wagner-Martin, and Orozco, 1994). The middle men are the traders who had links abroad, who wanted to buy the pearl at a price that is not worth represent these greedy oppressive middlemen. It is also against business ethics that people should forget the corporate social responsibility and get imprisoned on the dehumanizing effects of gaining wealth. Kino turned away from his neighbours, and he too focused on providing materially for his son rather than keeping focus on emotional needs as material needs follow suite. Thinking about corporate social responsibility, this story evidently paints the existence of business men and organizations, which will not see the society, which is their target market as important stakeholders that need respect, but stepping stones to get richer. The pearl fortune that came Kino’s way did not add value to his community, but made him almost an outcast of the same community. Any business venture must have the characteristics of trustworthiness. In this, businesspeople must be honest and uphold integrity or possess fidelity in all things. The pearl buyers contributed to the crumbling of Kino’s dreams by not offering to buy the pearl at good price. In business too, people should always be responsible; in pursuit of excellence they should not be too ambitious and greedy. Kino’s was over ambitious amidst an oppressive society that would not allow him get the much he wanted from the pearl. Growth is always in small steps and Kino would have accepted to grow in wisdom from the little that he was offered. Business also muss bear the greatest sense of justice and fairness. This is to say that every procedure should be fair, have equity in all cases and impartiality in dealing with people of all lifestyles. Consistency and equality characterizes this point. The doctor neglected the poor people and wouldn’t do his business with them. This is clear because he only came to visit Kino to treat Coyotito because he knew the pearl would pay him. Every business venture must also show the caring attitude towards the people. In this story we see Kino slowly putting his whole self and might to the pearl forgetting that he should care for the family. Business and organizations should also value civic virtue and citizenship, which is aimed at looking at how the country as a whole will benefit from the company or the organization’s venture. They should therefore abide by the law, offer services to the community community services, and to endeavor in protecting the environment. In the Pearl’s case, every one eyed the pearl for their own purposes. Kino’s attackers wanted to get the pearl from him in unlawful means; Kino solely wanted the peal to benefit his family and had no plans to benefit the entire community, to level best of his ability (Steinbeck, Wagner-Martin, and Orozco, 1994). The story also shows that that those people biding for the pearl had no respect, a fundamental thing business or corporate world. In chapter four, when Kino was selling the pearl, some looked at it and rejected it as a mere oddity. The book, upon careful reflections gives us the idea about the virtuous, and the un-virtuous human nature. It also shows us specific values such as integrity, respect, contentment, community justice and impartiality, and good citizenship. By using the style of portraying a people who do not value business ethics, the book enforces in its readers a strong sense of corporate social responsibility.

Adolescence Essay -- Adolescent Behavior

Adolescence According to the dictionary, the word â€Å"Adolescence† is the stage of youth; or maturity. And yet, if you really think about it, that definition merely touches the surface. Adolescence is that part of ones life that he or she will never forget because it plays a big role in the formation of who that person will become.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  It is quite normal for parents to think they know their children; REALLY know their children. In fact what they know, in most cases, is their child’s external behavior. Anything, which doesn’t fit into the parent’s idea of the child’s character, is liable to be classified as an unexpected reaction or absurd behavior.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  To know a child however, one must not judge him by his defects, or his virtues. To do this could lead to the child being classified by the parents in such a way as to make it difficult for them ever to abandon this view. Knowledge of a person’s external behavior is a rather superficial kind of knowledge. It could lead parents to think of their child in terms of what he does, rather than what he is.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  It is not clear what criteria parents follow when the want to classify or describe their child. Often they expect the child to fit into a scheme of adult values without realizing that the world of the adult and that of the child are quite distinct. Children have to be educated to be adults; it is not a matter of trying to turn them into adults when they...

Creative Writing – Happyness (Partial)

â€Å"Mother, I can not wait for school today!† At four years old I shouted this with excitement and glee, wonderful thoughts sprung into my mind and bounced around it like hot air in a balloon. Nothing could burst my bubble and I was determined to make a excellent impression on my new and caring teacher. It was my first day at primary school and I was to be introduced into reception. Miss Campsten, a young and friendly lady took my hand and led me into the strange yet curious room. I could see a dozen toddler faces gleaming up at me. It was all so inviting and fresh. Only then had I realised these were my new classmates. I scanned the room for a play mate and saw what I was sure was a sobbing boy. He moaned and groaned in the corner of the room behind a creaking wooden door. I shuffled slowly over and plucked up the courage to ask him â€Å"Will you play with me?† He twisted his head upwards to face me and smiled, I knew this was the start of a friendship which would seem to never end. Slowly but gradually he started to come out of his shell frequently talking to me like a shy tortoise. Playing in the deep and spacey sandpit was great. I used to pick up the sand and let it slide through my fingers acting as if it was a human sieve. Ben copied me and laughed at my stupid thinking in an amused matter. I did not really mind as long as it kept him happy. I was always confused about why he was so depressed that morning. The curiosity was biting at me like an impatient gnat. Miss Campsten explained, Ben, was suffering home sickness and had also been admitted that morning into school. At this age I did not believe this excuse, how could you be home sick at school? How could you not be excited?! I was buzzing like a bee around the classroom collecting worksheets and doing simple errands for Miss Campsten. It was overwhelming, I had no time to stop and think, learning numbers and the alphabet was challenging enough. Things were flowing nicely at school, new friends, great respect from my teacher and most of all a brilliant learning experience. The afternoon only just got better! We had taken a trip to the school gardens which led down a long, windy path to a greenhouse. The greenhouse was perfectly sound and stable with beautiful plants adorning it. The vast space inside was fascinating. Plant pots and crockery lay perfectly around the sides of the greenhouse on clear glass shelves. Ben and I screamed in delight! Delicately we picked an orchid to deliver as a gift to Miss Campsten, our teacher we were surprisingly fond with only after a few hours. The orchid embellished stunning features with its striking purple leaves and its long elegant stem. Perfection to a tee! â€Å"Home time children!† she said while clapping her hands enthusiastically. Oh no! The day had flown by in a flash. Ben and I exchanged grins of cheerful spirit because we had to explore so much more tomorrow.

Rather they should be interpreted as additional enforcement measures that, should they need them, are available to police officers. Likewise, there is good reason to believe that this novel ‘ticketing system’ would only apply to simple possession of 30 grams or less of marijuana. Additionally, these tickets would function similarly to those administered for speeding, outlining a fine or presenting a court option, also people who decide to go with the court option have the ability to represent themselves or have legal counsel. However, even if the government appears to be softening up when it comes to the legalities surrounding marijuana possession, it had not long ago passed legislation that toughened laws regarding marijuana possession with the purpose of trafficking, such as in the case of the 2012 Safe Streets and Communities Act. Furthermore, some, like the NORML Women’s Alliance of Canada, say that the purposed ‘ticketing system’ does not go far enough and is only â€Å"a halfway measure.† There are two legal issues related to this news article. Should the federal government simply decriminalize marijuana and does the current criminalization of marijuana hold any basis in ensuring public
